PAIGE with the Primary Care database
from Mad Scientist Software

How Dr. Ross might use PAIGE with
the primary care database.
Suppose Dr. Ross, a family physician, works with three other physicians in his
clinic. Of course, he wants instructions that help his patients understand what
they're supposed to do. (Saves on phone calls!) But he also needs instructions
for conditions he doesn't see very often. And he wants instructions that are editable
to his own practice style. For referrals, he wants the name and address of the
consulting physician on the patient's instruction sheet. And he wants it cheap,
because the cost of the software comes out of his own pocket. He needs PAIGE.
PAIGE creates instructions by using "pieces:" general disease
discription; treatment instruction, followup instruction. These are quickly
picked from menus. The instruction text is easily edited if it doesn't exactly
fit a specific patient. It's easy to create new instructions. And instruction
"pieces" can be linked together into a "Plan" so disease, treatment, and followup
can be selected at a single mouse-click.
In the Primary Care version, the instruction text "flavor" is
for ongoing care. Additional instruction blocks cover health practices for a
healthy lifestyle, routine examination and lab, and medication monitoring.
